X Rays @ Citrus NHS Dentist Edinburgh

Most patients realise that dentists do like their toys! At Citrus we believe that people come first a long way ahead of technology. That said, we do still love our toys, and with good reason. In our dental practice in Edinburgh we have invested heavily  in an all digital record system that incorporates Digital X Rays.

X Rays are an essential part of modern NHS Dental Care, and without them dentists find it very difficult to do their job well. Modern dental X rays involve tiny doses of radiation and are considered to be exceedingly safe. Even though we know how safe they are our team will always strive to minimise the number of x rays that we need to take as well as minimising the the dosage of radiation needed to create each picture.

The Solution Low Radiation  Digital X ray sensors
Our Xios digital sensors are marvellous and reduce the  radiation dose from each x ray by 50-70% compared to traditional  wet processed x rays films. To put things in perspective, we are all exposed to background radiation on a daily basis and it would take nearly 700 dental x rays withour  new sensors   to get close to the amount of background radiation that we receive each year just from going about our daily lives. As an added bonus these little sensors allow us  see the results almost instantly.

Technology, they way it should be, 100% useful and improving the standard of care that we can provide. Just another benefit of seeing an NHS dentist in Edinburgh with a Citrus twist!
